About the Role
This is a full-time, remote sales role open to candidates across North America. It sits at the center of how NxtGen grows. You'll be responsible for prospecting management companies, labels, and distribution companies, booking and running demos, and closing them onto the platform. You'll work both new outreach and existing accounts, finding opportunities to bring on more teams and expand the ones already with us.
You'll be talking to real teams daily and carrying a pipeline you own, with regular check-ins and support from leadership to keep you moving. We're looking for someone who can bring on partnerships and teams that onboard revenue at scale, not just one artist.
You'll get support from and report directly to the founder, Lynn, with a dedicated weekly check-in to review sales metrics and progress.
What You'll Do
Outreach. Prospect and reach out to management companies, indie labels, and distribution companies that would be a good fit for NxtGen. Send real, personal messages and follow up. You're responsible for keeping a steady flow of new conversations going.
Demos. Book and run demos with new and existing clients. Get on calls, answer questions, and clearly show teams what NxtGen can do for their roster.
Closing. Close larger accounts, the kind that onboard onto our team's plan rather than one at a time. You carry the deal from first demo to joined.
Account Expansion. Work existing top accounts to find expansion opportunities, grow them onto larger plans, and keep the relationship strong so they stay and scale with us.
Growth. Drive monthly recurring revenue month over month and play a direct, measurable role in scaling the business.
What Good Looks Like
In your first 90 days, you'll ramp toward securing 1-2 major partnerships per month and 10+ new teams per month. We'll support you and set this together and review it in your weekly check-in, so you always know where you stand.
Who You Are
You have 3+ years of experience and strong relationships in the music industry, whether through management, labels, distribution, or artist services.
You're a fast learner and eager to grow as the platform does.
You know how to run outreach and manage a pipeline, and you enjoy the relationship side as much as the close.
You're comfortable and confident getting on a call with teams when needed.
You're a strong communicator who can clearly explain how the platform creates value for them.
You're organized and self-motivated. You can summarize where every deal stands and show up to a weekly review with your updates in order.
You're comfortable working within Slack, Monday and other tools to track leads and pipeline.
You care about music and understand the people in it.
Compensation
Base salary: $3,500 USD/month (75K - 100K Yearly)
Commission: Paid on the new and expanding revenue you bring onto the platform, with a guaranteed ramp in your first two months while you build your pipeline.
Commission cap: $5,000/month
The First 90 Days
We want this role to drive real momentum from the start. After the first 90 days, we review the compensation structure based on performance, with room for your base to grow as you prove your impact. The review is designed to reward early traction and set you up to grow into the role, not to claw anything back.
